Today's slit log drums are based on ancient designs, but are uniquely crafted to resonate more fully. Each note must be carefully arranged and precisely measured and cut in order to get the maximum tone and volume out of a small area. Like a great violin, the resonating chamber and the number and tone of each note must be in perfect harmony.

Our new slit drums have beautiful tone quality due to their precise manufacture and exotic wood construction. All drum tops are made from African Paduak hardwood for exceptional resonation. Drum sides are made from jatoba wood. One pair of mallets included.
